Gin Fizz with Cucumber Yuzu and Fermented Pepper

A refreshingly crisp and citrussy cocktail with a sour salty kick from the fermented peppercorns and sweet mojito salt. Perfect summertime sipping.

Ingredients - makes 2

  • 200ml yuzu soda ( We used Strange Love Yuzu from Japan

  • 1 small cucumber for juicing plus extra for garnish

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 1 tbsp Spice Oddity Mojito salt

  • 10 Kadode fermented green peppercorns

  • 100ml good quality Gin ( We used Loch G&T Gin)

  • Light sugar syrup to taste

  • Ice

Method

1/ Thoroughly puree the cucumber in a bullet blender (add a splash of cold water if needed). Strain cucumber pulp through a tea strainer pressing to extract all the juice.

2/Add the Mojito salt to a saucer, and dampen the rims of 2 old fashioned glasses, dip the rims in the salt to coat evenly.

3/Add 50ml gin, 40ml cucumber juice, 100ml yuzu soda and the juice of 1/2 a lime to each glass and stir well. sweeten with a little sugar syrup if desired ( .

4/ Top up the glasses with crushed ice and garnish with a few fermented peppercorns and a cucumber spiral.
